The Secret to Changing Others

Humans tend to be discontent. We always want more of everything, and we hold onto negative thoughts. Positive thinking can help change us, but it cannot change the other person. So how can we change the other person you may ask?

Prayer. Prayer is the one thing that will change others, and you will be changed in the process as well. The quickest way to achieve change is by aligning with the changemaker. We must move from self-centered thinking to God-centered thinking. It’s that simple, but yet so hard because we’re all conditioned to put ourselves first.

What Do You Love?

What do you value? People? Money? Materialism? Image? Prestige? But, what should you value? The answer is character! When you love character, you align with God’s values and not the world’s value system which is distorted.

We all try to please the inner voice that demands perfection, and that voice may come from childhood training, society, but it certainly is not linked to God. God doesn’t care about your status in the world, so value what God values and prosper!

Put Yourself In The Other Person’s Shoes

Listening with empathy is the key to building strong relationships. Listening is different from hearing. You can hear something without listening. Listening also requires us to hear what isn’t being said. Have you ever tried to listen to the feelings behind what is being said?

A devoted friend is someone who will listen with empathy. Listening is one of the most important skills in building strong relationships. Put yourself in the other person’s shoes and listen carefully. Listen to what isn’t being said and watch your relationships flourish.

Your Thoughts Run Your Life

You must control your thoughts because your thoughts run your life. The process starts in the mind with a thought; then there’s a feeling, which produces an action. The way you think determines how you feel, which determines how you will act. Thoughts come before actions, and feelings motivate action.
Everything starts in the mind. To change your life, you must change your thinking first. Once you do that, your actions will also change.  Everything starts in the mind, so be careful what you think because your thoughts run your life.

Maturity At Your Service

Narcissism and self-centeredness are prominent in the world that we live in, but do we always have to do what is best for ourselves? What would the world look like if we put others first? What would happen if we helped a vulnerable person?

We are taught to live with the mind-set of “every-man-for-himself,” but this is not how we were meant to be. We are meant for compassionate and loving relationships. We are meant to be unselfish and loving.

Being less self-centered doesn't mean we have to sacrifice our entire life for others. It just means we should consider other people's thoughts, needs, and feelings before our own.

What Is Your Purpose?

Being alive means you will undoubtedly be faced with problems. The key is to stay focused on your purpose when things start falling apart. You cannot control what happens around you. You cannot control what people do, but you can control the way you respond.
Life isn’t easy, but life with a purpose keeps you grounded in your reason for being. It’s essential to stay focused on your purpose no matter what happens around you and then respond accordingly. The good news is no one can take your purpose away.

What Eats You?

To have a healthy and long life, we all know we need to take care of ourselves. We all know we need to eat right and exercise, but there’s another key factor to consider for a healthy life, and that is an emotional disease.

It’s not what you eat that is important. It’s what eats you that makes all the difference. You can eat the healthiest food, but if your body is filled with worry and resentment it is going to shorten your life, and the life that you currently have will be filled with bitterness. So, don’t worry and enjoy a crunchy carrot on me!
