What Does A Greek Poet Have In Common With A Hot Dog?

Sausage is one of the oldest forms of processed food, having been mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey as far back as the 9th Century B.C.

Although most hot dogs are made from pork and beef, recent health concerns around the nutritional content of traditional versions encouraged producers to provide healthier alternatives. Hot dogs made from turkey or chicken are available in most supermarkets, and many meatless alternatives (vegetables or soy products) are also available.

So, go ahead and choose a healthy alternative and add some nutritional chili sauce from HotDogue Culture. Hmmm, delicious.... Homer would be jealous!!!

Is a Hot Dog a Sandwich?

Hot dogs are processed protein, surrounded by processed carbohydrate so one might call them a sandwich. On the other hand, hot dogs are cylindrical in shape rather than prismatic, and vertical rather than horizontal in orientation. Here are five reasons why the hot dog is not the same as a sandwich:

1.   Imagine being at the ballpark with the organ playing, the crowd cheering and a vendor walking through the stands saying “Sandwich, get your sandwich here!”

2.   If you were watching a great athlete showing off during a game, you don’t call him a sandwich.

3.   Dirty Harry would not have sounded nearly as ominous if he said, “Never ever put mayo on a sandwich.” But when he said, “Never ever put ketchup on a hot dog,” people sat up and listened.

4.   Marlene Dietrich didn’t say that champagne and sandwiches were her favorite foods; it was champagne and hot dogs she loved.

5.   Babe Ruth wasn’t sent to the hospital and rumored to be dead because he ate too many sandwiches.

Get Your Red Hots!

The hot dog, a type of sausage was imported from Germany and made popular in the United States. The hot dog developed an association with baseball and American culture. The term “hot dog” is credited to sports cartoonist Tad Dorgan.

During a 1901 baseball game in New York, vendors began selling hot sausages in rolls. From the press box, Tad Dorgan could hear the vendors yelling, “Get your dachshund sausages while they're red hot!”

In the 19th century, German immigrant butchers in the United States sold variations of sausages; some were thin and long, like the dog breed Dachshund. They called these Dachshund sausages. Over time, the phrase evolved into “hot dog.”

Today, hot dogs have won the world over, and they're no longer just served at hot dog stands or carts in New York City. The gourmet hot dog has inspired a new culture! Join the culture… hotdogueculture.com.

How to Get Closer to Our Twin Soul

To get closer to our twin soul we must prepare by growing spiritually, and we must humble ourselves. Initially, we must forgive ourselves and then forgive others. We must love unconditionally. Unconditional love means loving thy neighbor as thyself. If there is no preparation, pride will blind us to our twin.

Twin souls are like one person divided into two, but not one soul divided into two. And, when they meet they know instinctively that this is their twin. The vision, feeling, and perspective of twin souls are one, and despite individual faults, they love one another unconditionally.

Twin souls have a deep sense of care for each other which does not allow for envy, and if there is any pain caused by one to the other it is strictly because of the lack of awareness. When twin souls finally meet, any age difference is of no consequence to them. Before the meeting, there is sadness and suffering which has no end in sight, but suddenly the twin appears!

Think Different to Act Different!

The way we think determines everything – like the way we feel   and this determines how we act. To change the way we act we must change the way we think. Thinking differently will change our emotions and our behavior. Remember, we are not what we think we are.

It’s extremely important that we renew our mind. The battle starts in the mind and must be dealt with in the mind. If we challenge our thoughts, we can be more creative, more innovate, and we can be better people! Remember the phrase, mind over matter?

Cheers to Love 2017

The word peace is associated with the Christmas season and peace is what we all want during the holidays. We long for peace within and peace with others. The holidays are supposed to be wonderful, bringing us peace on earth, but our lives instead are rushed, filled with shopping and parties.

Western culture tells us we need more of everything, but the only thing we truly need during the holidays and beyond is peace on earth, and one way to gain peace is to remember we are love. Without love, we are nothing!

The greatest illusion mankind must overcome is the illusion of separateness. Elevate love and unity. Everything we do this year needs to come from a state of abundance and surplus, from a state of love. Love is the most wonderful time of the year, so begin 2017 with love!

When Positive Thinking Doesn’t Work

What do you do when someone rubs you the wrong way? Most people will complain about the other person. Does this work? Probably not. So what should you do instead?

Positive thinking is all the rage, but this only works on self. Positive thinking cannot change the other person nor does complaining work. They only thing that can make a difference is to pray for that other person.

So when someone rubs you the wrong way pray for them. It can change them and you in the process. Remember, prayer can make the impossible possible.
